What Type Of Video Card Fits In An Emachine

Upgrade the graphics card in an eMachines computer.

Most eMachines computers have integrated video cards on the PC's motherboard, which reduces manufacturing costs and allows a lower price. However, eMachines computers are upgradeable to a faster, dedicated video card to increase the PC's graphics performance level.

AGP

Computers produced by eMachines before 2007 may have an AGP slot on the motherboard for a dedicated graphics card. Most of these slots accept either an AGP 4x or an AGP 8x video card. New AGP video cards are still available for purchase as of 2010, but they are obsolete and becoming harder to find.

PCI-E

Computers made by eMachines after 2007 may have a PCI-E x16 slot on the motherboard. PCI-Express video cards are the latest technology as of 2010 and offer the best performance for a dedicated video card.

PCI

All eMachines computers are upgradeable to a PCI video card, regardless of the computer type or generation. Many dedicated graphics card manufacturers offer PCI versions of their video cards for those computers lacking PCI-E or AGP slots on the motherboard.
