The MSI Wind is a popular "netbook"---a very small laptop computer optimized for low cost and high portability. Occasionally, updates may be released by MSI to improve the performance or reliability of the Wind, such as updates for the BIOS (the chip that controls the basic internal operations of the machine). Check for and install BIOS upgrades to keep your MSI Wind performing its best.
Instructions
1. Visit the MSI Support Downloads page using the link in the Resources section.
2. Click the button labeled "Click Here" to have the website automatically detect your MSI Wind model, or enter the model number using the drop-down menus on the right side of the screen. You will be taken to a product page showing a picture of the laptop.
3. Click on the "BIOS" tab. Scroll down to the "Download" link at the bottom of the page and use it to download the most recent BIOS for your Wind.
4. Close all open programs that are running on the Wind. Make sure that the unit is plugged into a power outlet, and that the battery is fully charged.
5. Extract the downloaded file into a folder. Double-click "flash.bat" and the MSI Wind BIOS will be updated automatically.
