Wiring Instructions For An Msi K9n Neof (Ms7369) Motherboard

Motherboards have a large number of connectors for various components.

There are more than 20 connectors on the MSI K9N Neo-F series motherboard, including the front panel connectors, power inputs, fan leads and drive ports. Make sure the wiring is complete to get the full functionality of the board and to avoid problems with system components, which rely on their connection to the motherboard to operate. Connect the power leads, lights and switches to the proper header row and install CPU and case fans, hard drive and optical drive data cables and external USB port connectors to the motherboard.

Instructions

1. Connect the 24-pin power lead from the power supply to the ATX1 connector near the CPU.

2. Connect the 4-pin lead from the power supply to the square JPW1 connector on the top of the motherboard near the CPU.

3. Connect the CPU fan lead to the small connector near the RAM that is marked "CPUFAN1."

4. Connect any auxiliary case fans or adapter fans to either the "SYSFAN1" or "SYSFAN2" ports located on either side of the CPU.

5. Connect the hard drive data cable to the port labeled "SATA1" and connect the optical drive data cable to the port labeled "SATA2" if it is an SATA type of drive. Connect them to the IDE1 header row if using the older parallel ATA, often called "IDE."

6. Connect the audio cable from the optical drive, if present, to the JCD1 connector below the last PCI slot.

7. Connect the data cable from the floppy drive, if present, to the "FDD1" connector below the last PCI slot.

8. Connect the front panel audio cable bundle to the connector marked "JAUD1" below the last PCI slot.

9. Connect one or more external USB cables to the "JUSB1," "JUSB2," or "JUSB3" ports.

10. Connect the "Power LED" front panel lead to pins 2 and 4 on the top row of the pin headers marked "JFP1" near the front panel and the PCI slots if using a 2-pin power LED connector.

11. Connect the "Power Switch" front panel lead to pins 6 and 8 on the top row of the pin headers marked "JFP1."

12. Connect the "HDD LED" lead to pins 1 and 2 on the bottom row of the pin headers marked "JFP1."

13. Connect the "Reset" lead to pins 5 and 7 on the bottom row of the pin headers marked "JFP1."

14. Connect the front panel "Speaker" connector to the four pins (2, 4, 6 and 8) on the top row of the pin header marked "JFP2" located adjacent to the "JFP1" connector.

15. Connect the "Power LED" lead to the bottom three pins (1, 3 and 5) of the "JPF2" header if using a three-pin Power LED lead.
