When you first get a motherboard, update its BIOS right away to prevent potential problems in the system when trying to configure the way your motherboard boots up or handles your processor. Asus' website contains the drivers necessary for you to update your K8V-MX's BIOS with a simple installation.
Instructions
1. Go to Asus' website in the first link in Resources.
2. Click the "Services" link on the top of the page and click "Support." This takes you to the Asus support department.
3. Click the large "Download" link.
4. Write "K8V-MX" in the search box where it says "Input Model to Search."
5. Click the "K8V-MX" link that shows up and select your operating system.
6. Expand the "BIOS" menu and click the "Global" link under "Download from" in the latest BIOS update's box. Type the letters that show up in the box next to them to pass the human verification test and download the file.
7. Browse to where you downloaded the file and double-click it to run the installer. The installation wizard guides you through the rest of the installation process. Restart your computer after you finish installing the BIOS utility.
