Network Diagnosis Software

Computer networks play an important part in the organization and function of many companies, and they must therefore be maintained with a high level of scrutiny. To assist in this, network diagnosis software can be used.

Identification

Network diagnostic software, such as Network Diagnostic Tester, Wireshark and TCPdump, helps network administrators and others working closely with a network to identify any problems with server connection, information transfer, etc. They do not directly fix these problems but make maintenance much easier and faster.

Function

Some things this type of software can do are detect problems between local area network connections, test ISP speed and connection and diagnose communication among networks and clients or multiple networks.

Considerations

Network diagnostic software is easy to find and download, and many programs are free. Windows XP users can download a free network diagnostic tool that is designed to troubleshoot problems along with the help of a professional over the phone. Other software options have a price tag but generally offer more features. NetInfo, for instance, can run on multiple platforms and can perform numerous tasks simultaneously.
