Update the Phoenix-Award BIOS v6.00PG
As new hardware comes out for personal computers, a machine's BIOS can quickly become antiquated. With computing technology becoming more advanced, updating a machine's BIOS has become easier than ever. Unfortunately Phoenix-Award BIOS v6.00PG, being older, requires that users copy a .iso file, which is essentially a CD image file, to a blank CD-R disk. For that, you will need software that supports .iso burning.
Instructions
1. Download the Phoenix-Award BIOS v6.00PG BIOS .iso if you do not have it already. Due to the age of the BIOS, finding this software can be a challenge. The most likely path to success is to contact Phoenix Technologies directly (see Resources).
2. Insert the CD-R in your CD-R Burner. If any windows open, click the red X to close them.
3. Boot your .iso burning software and copy the .iso file holding your BIOS update to your CD-R. While there are many programs that perform this task, they all work the same: simply click "Burn ISO", select the .iso file to burn to your CD, click "Burn" and wait for the file to copy.
4. Restart your PC once the .iso copy is complete.
5. Enter your BIOS by pressing the "delete" key when the computer first boots up. This will take you into your BIOS.
6. Navigate to your "Standard BIOS Options" submenu and change the computer's boot order so that it reads your CD-Drive before your hard drive. When complete, exit the BIOS, being sure to save your options. This will restart your PC again.
7. Press the "enter" key when prompted by your computer. This will boot the disk and your BIOS update will begin automatically. When complete, the computer will restart automatically and the update will be complete.
