The Hewlett Packard (HP) Pavilion range of desktop PCs all use an FIC VC-37 motherboard, dubbed "Tap" by HP. The Taiwanese computer and components manufacturer First International Computer (FIC) manufactures this component.
Processor
The VC-37 accepts an Intel brand processor using a Socket-478 type processor socket. This motherboard uses Intel Pentium 4 processors---specifically, the Northwood, Willamette and Celeron-Willamette. These processors offer speeds of up to 2.4, 2 and 1.9 gigahertz (GHz), respectively.
BIOS
The VC-37 used Award BIOS produced by FIC and stored on a built-in non-volatile ROM chip. It included 4 megabytes (MB) of flash BIOS.
Graphics
The VC-37 has inbuilt graphics on its Intel chipset, which uses up to 48 megabytes of video memory. It has no AGP graphics connector.
Memory
The VC-37 can support up to 2 gigabytes (GB) of DDR SDRAM in the two DIMM memory slots on the board.
The VC-37 has a total of six USB ports---two front and four rear. These ports take on the USB 2.0 format.
