Pinnacle Studio HD is a desktop video editing program designed with home users in mind. The program simplifies the process of editing videos and sharing them on discs or through the Internet, but your computer must meet Studio HD's system requirements in order to use these features. Operating System and Processor
Computers with multi-core processors will run Pinnacle faster.
Pinnacle Studio HD works on Windows 7, Windows Vista Service Pack 2 and Windows XP Service Pack 3. It is compatible with 1.8GHz or faster Intel Pentium and AMD Athlon processors, although Pinnacle recommends a 2.4GHz or better CPU for best performance. AVCHD editing requires a 2.4 GHz or faster Intel Core 2 Duo or Core i7 CPU. AVCHD 1920 requires one of the aforementioned CPUs with a 2.66 GHz clock speed.
Memory and Disk Space
HD and AVCHD editing require a great deal of memory.
You must have at least 1 GB of RAM for Pinnacle Studio HD and 2 GB for AVCHD editing. The program needs 3.2 GB of disk space, but keep in mind that you will probably need quite a bit more space on your hard drive for video project files.
Video, Sound and Optical Drives
You need a sound card to hear audio.
Pinnacle Studio HD requires a graphics card with at least 64 MB of memory and support for either Microsoft DirectX 9 or 10. You need a 256 MB card for HD and AVCHD editing. A DirectX 9-compatible sound card is also necessary for audio output. You should also have a CD burner if you plan on creating Video CDs or Super Video CDs. A DVD-burner is necessary for creating HD or AVCHD discs.
