EVGA's 730i motherboard, similar to other motherboards or mainboards, receives BIOS updates from time to time. BIOS updates are improvements to the software installed on the motherboard, which boots the computer and initializes the hardware. The updates contain stability fixes as well as improved compatibility with more hardware. As of November 2010, the most recent BIOS update was version SZ0Y, released on October 27, 2009, which allows the 730i to use 8 GB of memory.
