Update An Asus Motherboard

Motherboards are a very important part of any computer, so it's best to update the drivers frequently to ensure optimal performance. You may also need to install drivers for the first time if the computer is brand new, or if you've reinstalled the operating system. The drivers and utilities are typically included on a CD that comes with an ASUS motherboard package, but updates are released often, so checking the manufacturer's website for new ones is always a good idea.

Instructions

1. Go to the ASUS website, and select your region and country.

2. Navigate to the "Services" tab at the top of the page. Click "Support." Click the text under the "Download" heading.

3. Go to the drop-down menu under the "General Download" heading that says "Select Product." Choose "Motherboard." Under "Select Series" and "Select Model," choose the information that corresponds to your specific product. Click "Search."

4. Select your operating system from the menu in the box that appears. Click "Search" again.

5. Select the drivers or utilities you wish to download from the list that appears. Choose a server from which to download--either "China" or "Global." Input the characters that appear on the screen into the box, and then hit "Submit." The download will begin.

6. Extract the files from the archive you have downloaded. Some drivers or utilities may require that you install them or restart the computer for them to take effect. Check the files you have downloaded for individual instructions.
