Product Specifications For The Hp Pavilion A1600n

Hewlett-Packard (HP) has been an industry leader in computer technology for many years. Its line of Pavilion Media Centers has helped to increase the use of personal computers as entertainment centers in the home. The a1600n series of the Pavilion line was released in August 2006, and came with numerous multimedia software applications preinstalled.

Performance Components

The HP Pavilion a1600n uses an Asus A8M2N-LA motherboard. The motherboard contains an Athlon 64 X2 (W) 3800+ processor that clocks at speeds of 2.0 GHz. It comes prepackaged with 1GB of 240-pin DDR2 SDRAM memory but can be upgraded up to 4GB.

Drives

Storage for the HP a1600n is a 200GB Serial Advanced Technology Attachment (SATA) drive that supports 7,200 rotations per minute. It also has a 16x DVD-R/RW Lightscribe drive for reading and writing discs, both in single- and dual-layer formats. The Lightscribe feature allows the drive to laser-etch images into the top of special discs.

Interfaces

The a1600n connects to networks using either the standard 56Kbps modem or 10/100 Base-T network Ethernet port. Audio is produced by a Realtek ALC 888 chipset, and video output is integrated into the motherboard. It also comes with a multicard reader that supports all major memory card types like Secure Digital (SD) and Compact Flash I and II.
