Types Of Hp Motherboards

There are several types of motherboards developed for Hewlett-Packard.

The motherboard is named as such because it makes up one of the key components that bridges the gaps within a computer. Containing the micro-processor, graphics ports, BIOS, and many other input and output devices, the motherboard plays a part in almost any function that a user wishes to perform. One of the top producers of motherboards is HP---or Hewlett-Packard---which designs motherboards with different specifications depending upon what a user might need.

A8AE-LE (AmberineM)

The A8AE-LE---also known as AmberineM---is a motherboard that is manufactured by ASUS and used within many models of Hewlett-Packard and Compaq computers. The motherboard supports three different types of processors, including the "AMD Athlon 64 X2 4800+," "Athlon 64 4000+," and "AMD Sempron 3200+." It can hold up to 4 gigabytes of memory, also known as "RAM." With integrated graphics, it also has several input and output slots, including those for a mouse, keyboard, monitor, and up to four USB ports. For audio there is a line-in, line-out, as well as microphone.

M2N68-LA (Narra)

The M2N68-LA---also known as "Narra"---is another motherboard manufactured by Asus and is utilized by Hewlett-Packard and Compaq. For processors, it has an "AM2" socket, which integrates with three models of processors, including Athlon 64 X2 (dual core technology) processors for up to 5600+, Athlon 64 processors that are less than 4000+, and Sempron processors that are less than 4000+. The Narra can support up to 8 gigabytes of memory on 64 bit PCs. It uses "8 channel" high-definition audio.

PTGD1-LA (Grouper)

The PTGD1-LA---also known as Grouper---is manufactured by ASUS, and known as the "Grouper-UL8E" once installed within Hewlett Packard computers. Designed for three different processors, it supports a "Socket LGA775," an Intel Pentium 4 processor for up to 3.4 gigahertz, as well as an Intel Pentium 4 HT processor. Approved for up to 4 gigabytes of memory, additional advanced graphics cards---such as a PCI Express card---can be added. Offering advanced audio, the Grouper has six audio ports, including a side speaker out, rear speaker out, center (subwoofer), line-in, line-out, and microphone.
