Information On Foxconn Motherboards

Foxconn is a trusted name for motherboards and computer parts in general.


Foxconn started with humble beginnings in 1974 as a mechanical and electronic parts distributor. Founded with $7,500, the company expanded from distributing parts to manufacturing complete motherboards and other computer parts.


History


According to Foxconn.com, the company is "Aided by its legendary green manufacturing execution, uncompromising customer devotion and its award-winning proprietary business model." With a high interest in innovations and new technology, Foxconn held over 25,000 patents by 2010.


Focus


The focus of Foxconn has always been to introduce components at the lowest total cost to the consumer. As the company expanded, this philosophy was extended to their motherboard development. Although Foxconn's focus is low cost for the end consumer, this does not mean they sacrifice in build quality. The company offers cutting edge motherboards with the latest available technology.


Intel Platform


Take for example the Renaissance II motherboard. It has a Socket T which allows it to accept Intel's i7 and Core i7 Extreme (Bloomfield) processors. The four PCI express 2.0x16 slots allow you to plug in up to four video cards. It can support up to six DIMMs for memory, allowing for a total of 24GB of RAM.


The Foxconn Intel platform motherboards are the products the Socket 1366, Socket 1156, and Socket 775. There are numerous chipsets included in the numerous different models that Foxconn builds.


AMD Platform


With a Socket AM3, the A9DA-S motherboard accepts AMD Phenom II and Athlon II processors. It supports up to 16GB of memory and two PCI express 2.0x16 cards.


The AMD platform products include the Socket AM3, Socket AM2+/AM2, Socket AM2, Socket 939, and Socket 754, with varying chipsets and models.
