Update Foxconn Bios

Update Foxconn BIOS

Foxconn is a global supplier of budget and enthusiast computer products. One of the company's most notable products is its line of computer motherboards. These motherboards require software BIOS updates over time to ensure maximum compatibility and functionality with new hardware devices. Flashing a Foxconn BIOS updates the computer's microcode to allow for new functionality and to fix previous program errors. Foxconn provides regular BIOS updates that should be installed expeditiously to ensure a properly operating computer.

Instructions

1. Insert the bootable disk into the appropriate drive on your computer.

2. Restart the computer and allow it to boot from the disk.

3. Type \"A:\\ dir\" (where A is the drive location for the bootable disk) at the prompt once the boot-from-disk process is finished, and press the \"Enter\" key. This displays a list of all files currently on the BIOS disk.

4. Write down the name of the single file with the .BIN file extension. This is the BIOS file.

5. Type \"A:\\ AWDFLASH xxx.bin /py/sn/cc/cd/cp/wb\" and press the \"Enter\" key. Replace the \"xxx\" prior to \".bin\" with the name of the file displayed in the directory readout. This launches the automatic BIOS update utility and flashes the BIOS to update it to a newer version. Do not restart or shut down the computer during this update.

6. Remove the disk from the drive before rebooting or the computer will boot from the disk again, but wait until the program notifies you that the BIOS flash process is complete.

7. Press the \"F1\" key when the BIOS utility displays that the flashing process is complete. This reboots the computer and allows the changes to take effect.
