Vaio Psc Lx910 Packing Instructions

Each piece of a desktop PC should be wrapped individually when packing.

Personal computers like the Sony Vaio LX910 are delicate pieces of machinery, and any shaking, jostling or other undue physical contact can lead to operational issues or greater damage. As such, great care must be taken when packing and shipping the LX910 --- with or without the monitor and other accessories --- to ensure that damage does not occur. Whether you are shipping it to a service facility or packing it up for a move, providing a sufficient level of padding within the package will protect the computer until it reaches its destination.

Instructions

1. Pack the LX910 in its original manufacturer's packaging if you still have it. As the packaging was designed for this particular computer, it is the ideal size (with space for all peripherals) and provides packing materials directly suited to this PC, such as the specially-fitted styrofoam cushioning brackets.

2. Use a sturdy corrugated fiberboard box large enough to contain the various components of the LX910 if you do not have the original box. The PC's tower measures 11 by 14.6 by 4.2 inches and its original monitor measures 15 inches diagonal, so the ideal box will have just enough room to contain these along with the other components and packing/shielding materials.

3. Secure the bottom of the box with packing tape to ensure the box will hold roughly 15 pounds. Wrap the PC tower in a layer of plastic wrap if you have cushioning brackets to hold the tower in place. Wrap it with a minimum of 2 inches of Bubble Wrap or similar cushioning material if you do not. Place the wrapped tower in the box.

4. Wrap the monitor in a similar manner and place it on top of the tower in the box. Do the same for any other peripherals and accessories to be included, as well. Fill the leftover space in the box with packing peanuts or other insulating material, such as additional bubble wrap, to prevent the pieces from moving within the box. Seal the top of the box with packing tape when finished.
