Vizio Vo47l 47 In Lcd Tv Troubleshooting

The Vizio's connection to the cable/satellite receiver is crucial.

Your Vizio VO47l 47-inch LCD TV is an enjoyable viewing experience only when working properly, and a number of common problems can arise to lessen the quality of that experience. Fortunately, a television troubleshooting novice can fix issues ranging from coaxial and audio/video cable errors to video input missteps in short order. The only item you will need on hand is your TV's remote control.

Instructions

1. Go to the rear of your Vizio VO47l and check that the power cable has not come loose from your wall outlet. A simple occurrence like this can be swiftly rectified before plunging into more difficult troubleshooting tasks.

2. Cycle through the video inputs using the "Input" button on the TV or on the remote. The Vizio supports multiple video input modes in order to accommodate multiple devices and purposes. For example, one input may be assigned to an attached DVD player. If the wrong video input has been selected, you won't have audio or video with cable or satellite programming. Move through the inputs until you reselect the correct one.

3. Check the cabling between your TV and your cable or satellite receiver box. The audio/video cable has two sets of color-coded prongs at each end. Check that the prongs are correctly connected into the matching audio/video ports on the back of the cable/satellite receiver box and your TV.

4. Ensure the coaxial cable has a strong, secure connection within the "ANT IN" cable port on the rear of the cable/satellite receiver box. Tighten the cable within the cable/satellite receiver by turning the metal band clockwise until it is snug.
